Get to know Brian Mathias.
Brian was born and raised in beautiful Santa Cruz County. He represents employees in a wide variety of labor law matters, including disability (health) discrimination, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, whistleblower retaliation, and unemployment benefits appeals. Brian also represents employees in class actions for unpaid wages, overtime, and denied rest and meal breaks (called "wage and hour law").
Additionally, Brian represents landlords in all aspects of landlord-tenant law, including evictions, unpaid rent, security deposit issues, and drafting rental agreements. Brian exclusively represents landlords and property management agencies.
Brian is a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California, and is one of a select handful of Central Coast attorneys belonging to the California Employment Lawyers Association (CELA), an organization dedicated to the representation of California employees.
In his spare time he enjoys drumming, hiking, and ocean kayak fishing near his home in Aptos, California. Brian is a former assistant professor of Constitutional Law at the Monterey College of Law in Seaside, California.
